How long have you been training with Everyday Superhero Training?

I've been training at Everyday Superhero Training for just over a year.

Prior to training with Everyday Superhero Training, how was your experience with exercise, nutrition, training, or diets?

I had done many different diet and exercise programs including things like South Beach Diet, P90X, Walk Away the Pounds, Slim Fast, and several others.  It worked...for a while, but it never stayed.

How has your experience with exercise, nutrition, training, or diets changed since you started training with Everyday Superhero Training?

I have a much healthier outlook on my body.  I don't see exercise as a punishment for food.  I can still eat what I like, but I just have to also eat what I need.  

What were your health, fitness, or diet goals prior to training with Everyday Superhero Training?

Prior to training with Everyday Superhero Training, I wanted to be smaller, more fit looking.  I only had aesthetic goals.

What are your health, fitness, or diet goals now that you have been training with Everyday Superhero Training? How have they evolved?

Now my goals focus on enjoying my life.  I'm no longer ashamed at being the "bigger girl" when that also means I can pick up and move almost anything.  I realize I'm never going to be "small", but I am still happy because I can do all the things I want to do.

What if any, milestones, goals, or accomplishments from your training are your favorite?

Honestly, the first time I looked in the mirror while lifting and saw muscles moving instead of just fat, that was a good day.  


How has the Superhero Field Training class and/or other Everyday Superhero Training community members helped you on your journey?

They are so nice.  Everyone I have met through class or when we meet between sessions has been encouraging.  It's nice to see how many different levels of "fit and happy" people are through working with Everyday Superhero Training.

How long have you been training with Everyday Superhero Training? 

About two years, but Julian’s been training me for three plus.

Prior to training with Everyday Superhero Training, how was your experience with exercise, nutrition, training, or diets? 

I would say decent but not focused and a lot of self teaching.

How has your experience with exercise, nutrition, training, or diets changed since you started training with Everyday Superhero Training?

Very focused.  I’ve always been pretty knowledgeable about nutrition as it’s my job, but my understanding of exercise, flexibility and training with a goal in mind has greatly improved.

What were your health, fitness, or diet goals prior to training with Everyday Superhero Training? 

Exercise and stay around a Certain arbitrary weight.

What are your health, fitness, or diet goals now that you have been training with Everyday Superhero Training? How have they evolved?

Flexibility and muscle weight proportion are much more important to me now.  I also have had some health issues that caused me to not exercise as much as in the past and Julian has been able to work with me to get back on track.

What if any, milestones, goals, or accomplishments have you reached with your training? 

Reactivated numerous dormant muscle groups, increased muscle tone, much improved flexibility, balanced and focused exercise plan

How has the Superhero Field Training class and/or other Everyday Superhero Training community members helped you on your journey? 

They are very supportive and make exercise fun and communal.  They make exercise something you want to do instead of something you have to do.

How long have you been training with Everyday Superhero Training?

I’ve been with Everyday Superhero Training just a little over a year! I started in September 2017.


Prior to training with Everyday Superhero Training, how was your experience with exercise, nutrition, training, or diets?

As a relatively active person, I thought I was pretty solid on the exercise front. I often ran a few miles every week, and spent hours on the elliptical, always expecting different results. I would often go through inconsistent periods; there would be weeks where I would be at the gym (elliptical, only!) for hours at time, and then weeks where I sat on my couch and scarfed down whatever was in sight.

My nutrition was my hardest challenge. I have always been a small person (5”3!), so I followed the advice I found online, via Instagram or Reddit without any regard to my specific needs, macros, energy needs, etc. Calories In, Calories Out were my only real goal instead of fueling my body.


How has your experience with exercise, nutrition, training, or diets changed since you started training with Everyday Superhero Training?

 Nearly everything about my exercise and diet has changed in the year I’ve been with EST. Calories In, Calories Out is no longer the only nutrition goal I try to follow. Instead, I’m focused on what will keep my energy up, keep me from getting hangry, and fueling my body for my specific training requirements. Exercise and nutrition go hand-in-hand now instead of being separate entities. Tracking my food is a lot more fun when I care more about my protein goals than my caloric intake.

What were your health, fitness, or diet goals prior to training with Everyday Superhero Training?

Honestly, I think I just wanted to be smaller, skinnier. My goals were entirely superficial and aesthetic-based.


What are your health, fitness, or diet goals now that you have been training with Everyday Superhero Training? How have they evolved?

Obviously, aesthetics are always going to be a motivation for training, but my goals have evolved to include my health. Prior to EST, my actual health was of little concern. If I looked good, I was probably already healthy, right? WRONG! Over the first few months of training with EST, I quickly realized that there was a huge different between looking good and feeling good – and that I would be able to accomplish both with time and dedication! Now, my goals are focused on how I feel. Something simple like being able to carry my three-ear-old niece for hours at a time without getting exhausted is an ability I never realized could matter so much to me. I love having more energy, more endurance, and less sluggish reactions. Basically, now that I know I can have this much energy and livelihood, I’m going to use my training to always be in pursuit of this new goal – staying younger and fitter longer.


What if any, milestones, goals, or accomplishments have you reached with your training?

I CAN DO PULL-UPS! Not only that, but they have easily become my favorite exercise. On a more personal note, I’ve conquered my fear of the weight area of my gym. Knowing that I belong there is a confidence that I never knew I could possess.

How has the Superhero Field Training class and/or other Everyday Superhero Training community members helped you on your journey

Having a solid group of friends and accountability buddies makes working out even more fun! Everyone is extremely supporting and encouraging! Watching my friends meet new goals encourages me to continue to do the same.
